Chester Bennington

Music has lost another legend 2 days ago in Chester Bennington, aged 41 – Lead singer of Linkin Park.

I listened to Linkin Park a lot growing up, teenage angst at some of its finest. Music is very diverse, but this band was one of the ones that most people listened to and in a sense brought people from different musical backgrounds together.

I regret not going watching them so badly, just to hear crawling, numb, faint, papercut to name a few – Heck just to hear Chester pelt one out before my very eyes.

Linkin Park was one of the greatest alternative bands of our time and it just will not be the same without Chester.

Its a shame that he felt there was no other way and that he had to go out the way he did, I feel for his children and family too.

Chester – You are already greatly missed – Be at peace

North England Super Powers #2

Being able to survive the extreme cold.

The people in the North of England do struggle to describe what the sun might actually look like, for it is almost always raining up there.  Might get one week of sun in July, but that’s our lot and as time goes by it is easy to forget the sun.

Even when it is shining, it does not guarantee a warm day either.

What may be considered as subzero temperatures to someone in the South would be described as only being ‘a bit nippy’ up our end…Coz we’re used to it…How bad is that :/

It will even go as far as us having to wear our summer clothes in crappy weather, because the crappy weather is our summer. It’s typical to go on a night out say around Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and see (Mostly woman, but also some men) going out dressed in (What is essentially) bits of string, because the weather doesn’t bother us really and…well we’re a bunch of sluts (Y)

Wearing coats up here is generally frowned upon and they are only used to identify either southerners, tourists or weaklings.

It is only acceptable to wear a coat I guess, when a severe weather warning has been issued. All the country is warned to stay in doors, but we stick on the big coat and go Asda or the pub anyway.

Sod it, it won’t stop us 🙂

The Magic Money Tree

Theresa May.

Pays £1 Billion of tax payers money to the DUP in order to secure a majority and keep herself in power…against the wishes of the people.

Then she, and most of the Conservative MPs, vote against giving workers in the emergency services a much deserved, much needed pay  rise…Even after the events at Manchester MEN Arena, London Bridge & Grenfell Tower.

Even goes as far as to cheer at the fact that they will not be getting a pay rise to add insult to injury.

Grenfell Tower

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/jun/14/grenfell-tower-fire-and-cladding-dangers

The warnings were there and nothing was done.

All actions have consequences, this was the consequence of deaf ears 😦

For years the people in Grenfell tower have raised concerns about the cladding and the safety of the building and only now, that a tragic event has occured, have ears started to unfolded and listen.

And they say ignorance is bliss.

These people deserve justice.

Thoughts to those who have been affected

Meanwhile back in Parliament…

So today Jeremy Corbyn got a Standing Ovation from his fellow party members and PM Teresa May had a few people stamping their feet for her with mostly an awkwardness in the air.

I was moved slgithly in Mrs May’s speech, but then Corbyn got savage – Check this out:

I was moved by his speech as well, which hit home to most points May covered and they seemed to agree and worry about some of the main things.

While May remained Sombre (With a cheeky comment at the beginning about the Landslide in the vote), Corbyn took a slightly lighter approach and tucked in to quite a few jokes, that given the shape of recent events, still made me laugh 🙂

Mrs May seemed to take it all in good faith as well, which was kinda nice to see actually 🙂

All Around the World…

Manchester, Cairo, Bangkok, Kabul,

London.

They just keep coming and coming.

These are not attacks, this is an assault.

This type of thing usually grabs a few lives, injures a few people and then goes away; resurfaces after a few months, years and deemed to be separate incidents.

This is different. It’s all part of the same thing, something much bigger is happening here I think.

This particular monster keeps rearing its ugly head in different areas all over the world. It never truly goes away, especially to those it has directly impacted, it stays with them always.

I mourn for those who have been taken and feel for the families and friends that have lost those they love because of these horrible events. Think of those who have been injured.

This might be frightening for you, and I am not trying to scare anybody.

You should already be scared.  Only an idiot or a fool wouldn’t be.

I don’t think a ‘This is it now’ thought process is going to happen here.

More like a ‘What is coming next?’

We Love MCR <3

Ariana Grande – This woman is an incredibly brave woman.

A terrorist made an attack at her concert at Manchester MEN Arena just over a week ago, it was learned her own mother was also in the crowds.

22 Angels and 150 injuries and thousands of lives affected.

The response from emergency services and police force was incredible and the whole city, borough, county, came together like no one had ever seen. This is how it is done and is a stunning example to set for the rest of the country, the world even.

Ariana was criticized for cancelling her tour and flying back to America, but if I was in her shoes with my mother among the masses, I would just want to go home and hold her and thank my stars she was alive. Not to mention this must have shaken her and she will have needed support and love and to be told THIS WAS NOT HER FAULT. This will follow her for the rest of her career and the rest of her life & she has been amazing.

It is a shame, that people have called for their money back on tickets for Ariana, following the tour being cancelled. I mean they are entitled too, but there is such a thing as too soon. The show will still happen when Ariana is ready for it to happen. Don’t forget she is human too and besides I am pretty sure there are thousands of people out there wishing for their family members, their children to come back… You people have no idea. She has even contacted the families of those affected and offered financial help to cover funerals and donated to the We Love MCR Charity fund herself to help those in hospital, etc.

It is safe to say that her fans will not go anywhere, if anything she will have gained millions. Just over a week has gone by and this brave young woman is travelling back to Manchester to hold a benefit gig and donate all proceeds to the We Love Manchester Charity Fund. This will have taken a great amount of courage and will inspire her fans and be a pillar of strength to those that are suffering the most from the incident. Heck, shes is also bringing in the reinforcements in the form of Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Coldplay just to name a few for the gig!!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-40086336

Liam Gallagher is holding a tribute gig tonight as we speak and other bands that have performed since such as The Couteneers, Iron Maiden & Aerosmith have showed compassion during their gigs and had a moments silence or performed a song in memory of the incident. Even offered donations along with Wayne Rooney, Ed Sheeran, Eminem and the like.

The whole of the United Kingdom fell silent at 11am a few days after this as a sign of respects and the world was painted with the flag of the United Kingdom on famous monuments from the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the Burj Khalifa in Dubai!

There were/ are local bands playing in Manchester Piccadilly Gardens, bringing people together & donating whatever money given to the cause, vigils being held near the arena and across the world in Torquay, Texas and Bangkok and many other places. Not to mention the beautiful flower garden memorial that has been laid down in St Anns Square.

This attack was hoping to strike fear into all of our hearts, but is has only brought the world closer together, this is the best form of defiance.
